Enjoyed this game quite a bit actually. Text based and mentally challenging. But it only took me about an hour or two and it abruptly ended.

People who say this is too short and that it only took an hour are either cheaters on geniuses. Im a clever person and am good at puzzles but this game takes WAY longer than an hour. This game is very emotional, especially for a game that doesnt even have any pictures. I cant really think of a way to explain how amazing this game is at the moment, mostly because I just beat the game and am shaken up from the ending. This game is definitely worth the time and money, just dont cheat and look up the answers online. It takes all the fun out of the game.
I cannot get it past the first page, how the hell do it get to play the game.
The game was very fun to play. A lot of guessing with a few challenges. The abrupt ending was very disappointing.
Really well done contextual word game. Other reviewers are correct: game is a bit short & ending is a bit abrupt and less than satisfying. But if you love playing with words, buy it anyway! Blackbar leaves players hating the end & wanting more precisely because the gameplay itself is so enjoyable. Looking forward to the next c*"u.!ca+!*. from Mrgan LLC.
true to the previous reviews, the game took me a little over an hour to complete, but it was definitely an hour well-spent. the puzzles and riddles were clever, the plot was clearly conveyed, and it leaves you with something to think about. I didnt think the ending was as bad as the other reviews implied, but that might be because I had read reviews beforehand and was bracing myself for the abrupt end. I dont exactly regret it, but in my opinion, $3 is a liiiiittle too much for an hour-long game that Im probably not going to play again any time in the foreseeable future.
Will get your brain juices flowing, but a lot of fun and extremely well done. Highly recommended for a long train or plane ride.
Liked the interesting game-play and the story, but was much too short (less than an hour). Would be worth $0.99, but was over-priced at $2.99
This game is refreshing, the format is clean and simple but so is the story line. Too simple. The character development was inadequate to become invested. There is so much more they could have done with this, maybe next version...
Great game, excellent use of text, tricky puzzles. But given the themes and plot, and the price, it needs to be three times as long. BTW, there are two endings, sort of: a "black ending" and a "yellow ending." If you got the black ending, go back one page and try again.
I very much enjoyed this games unique puzzles and storytelling technique. I havent finished it yet but it looks great. Also, I encountered a bug in the most recent version. If you press the "previous" button before the transition is finished the game breaks. Apart from that its fine though.
Love it!
Great brain teaser/word game tied into an engaging story. Kept my brain turning and have recommended it to many friends!
Fun game. It was a little different than I thought it would be: more guessing than I expected and less "remembering something from earlier" than I expected, but it was a super fun game overall. I would get stumped on a page for days and only had to cheat a little :).
Some things were cool and intriguing... Some were just so random I had no clue on how to do it, and when searching the internet, the answer was so absurdly random.
Can someone please explain to me how "big" isnt the answer to the third word? Until I find an answer, I have essentially wasted three dollars to read a paragraph.
I wish this was an email client.
A $3 app should keep your attention for at least a week- I solved this in a few hours without cheats. To justify the price, there should be a second story or prologue/epilogue unlocked when you finish the main story. Until then, wait for a sale.
I wish there were more iPhone games like this--a minimalist, novelistic excursion, no ads, no freemium bs, just a clever series of puzzles. Its literally the only phone game I have ever enjoyed. Developers please take note, we want to play Myst and The Dig on our phones, not games that demand our money like slot machines.
